All of us must eat and drink, and do so daily to obtain the energy and nutrients we need and to enjoy the social and cultural experiences we strongly associate with food. From an early age, I have nurtured a great love   for food and cooking, one that I hoped to maintain through my education at the University of Michigan. This has taken form in my writing.  Food is my muse, words my medium. In my writing, I explore food in historical, environmental, ethical, and autobiographical contexts to teach others (and learn myself) how consumption and preparation of food plays a larger role in the world than most of us realize.
